ROSE TEAPOT SET

Blossoms and Leaves
Flowers and tea. Both are grown from the earth. Both have a rich, natural aroma. They can lift your spirits, or help you relax from a tiring day. And now, the beauty of each comes together in this blossoming tea set.
Stacked together, the parts of Beijing designer Shen Di's porcelain set appear to bloom, forming a stylized rosebud. But pluck them from the stack, and each petal blossoms with multipurpose functionality: the bottom piece becomes a plate; the large bowl holds fresh fruit or chocolates; and the two small cups are perfect for a spot of tea. The top layer has a tea strainer, and a small scoop for measuring loose leaf tea. All of these rosy-hued pieces are paired with a small, matching teapot that's perfect for two friends to share. Made in China.

Tea by any other name would taste as delicious. But a teapot that looks like a rose is extra sweet! Would you love to enjoy tea for two with this unique set?

I have seen cutier shapes and colors. It is a little high in price.

Love the design. A bit pricey but as a tea lover I would consider purchasing it anyway.

Very clever design. I am curious to know where it is made. For the price, it better be the USA.

I agree that I like the concept, its the execution that is lacking.

Vote: Thumbs down!
Too expensive and oddly shaped. I'm not sure I like the colors either.
Margaret
Very clever!!

I wouldn't want to do a puzzle every time I made a cup of tea. I think the resemblance to a rosebud is a stretch.
Kristin
Nice idea but not for this function

We're glad you like the Rose Teapot Set, Christine! To answer your question, the set was designed by Bejing-based designer Shen Di and is made in China. The Rose Teapot Set has won design awards all over the world and is celebrated for its fusion of Eastern and Western styles. Uncommon high design is definitely our cup of tea!

clever idea! I love unusual teapots and this one is great. It's creative and still easily useful. Also beautiful just sitting on a counter or bookcase.

It's cute when stacked together, but would look weird in use because of the odd shapes.

It looks like something cute you'd find on Etsy, but "Made in China" just scares me for any food product. How do I know there's no lead in the paint?
Jennifer
It's a bit pricey, but it's just darling! I love the colors. It looks like something from the Art Deco or Arts and Crafts movement.

this does not look like a rose and does not look well made.

Thanks for your feedback, Erin! All of our dishware is lead free. We take this into consideration when choosing products for our assortment.

Cute design and presentation, but I'm not a tea drinker, and wouldn't purchase this item, especially at this price.

Unstacked, the tea cups remind me of toilet bowls or urinals.

Vote: Thumbs up!
Unique design but pricy. It'd be nice if it's made in USA. To answer other reviewers, it's made in China according to the product story (the last sentence).

Cute idea. I wanted to like this set, but the cups seem impracticable to actually use. It seems as though they might get hot and they don't look all that comfortable to drink from, so I'm skeptical.

Love the stylized nesting bowls/cups! I think the price is worth it for a tea set for two that could be used for other things as well.Glad to hear it's lead free, esp since it's Made in China. However, such a source makes sense in this case, as the Uncommon Goods rep stated that the designer lives in China.

I can appreciate the "rose" concept when the tea set (made in China and far too expensive -- two BIG negatives) is together but when it is separated for use, the bread platter looks like a bedpan. Some of the other individual pieces are somewhat vulgar looking as well. Not too artistic!
Jeanette

Not very attractive, far too many pieces. I'm not a tea drinker, but this is far too expensive for a gift.
Lisa
First I am wary now of things from China. Besides that I don't know if this whole thing would work. I drink tea but will the strainer hold onto the edge of the cup or pot till done steeping and what sizes are all these. they look small to me. I would not buy it.

I would have to agree that this seems both expensive and overly complicated. I understand the design choices are supposed to be rose-like, but I don't find any of them appealing. Also none of the pieces look like they would be pleasant to drink out of and since that is the whole point of tea I feel like the functionality just isn't there.

I love it. I love that it is unique. I love that it is not red but more rose color. It is a tad expensive but my feeling is that it is worth it. I hope I did not waste my time voting and now not be able to purchase this item...that would be unfair. If others do not care for it....they do not have to purchase. I would like to own this and it would also make a great gift for a tea lover.

It's cute--but it would have to be made in America for me to spent over $30.00 for a tea set!
Lynn
Vote: Thumbs up!
Tea lovers appreciate the ceremony of making and serving tea and the component aspect of this adds to the process but in a positive way. Lovely colors and lovely shapes. Considering what teapots sell for in tea shops, this is a reasonable price - but could be made by an American artisan.

The colours are not appealing and the design is a little too cubistic to be marketed as a "rose".
