I like to find unusual ornaments for our tree. I bought the chili pepper last year and the onion this year. They are very pretty and just the right size.

We're always searching for lovely home accents, so when Katie found this handcrafted onion ornament we nearly cried tears of joy! Would you buy this beautiful bulb?

Although I do not care to eat onions, this one is quite beautiful. Any other veggies coming?

      Cassie, UncommonGoods Community Moderator

Glad you like it, Terri! We currently have a handblown glass chili pepper ornament (you can find it by searching item#21079) and a glass lemon (item # 21081). We also have a glass grape ornament up for voting this week! What other fruits and veggies would you like to see in our assortment?

25$ seems high for the size. i would buy it for 15$

Attractive and a reasonable price. I also can support it because it is made in the USA.

Thanks for the suggestions, Sue. A tomato would look lovely in my red kitchen, too!

Really cool looking! I love onions so this would be great for a kitchen decoration.

very nice, would love to hang in my window, except price should be $15-$20

      Cassie, UncommonGoods Community Moderator

Thanks for asking, Kelly! This handmade ornament can be hung in a window for use as a suncatcher, or you could display it on a hook in your kitchen or another room. You could also mix and match it with other glass fruit and veggie ornaments in a basket for a table centerpiece.

A beautiful ornament that can be hung anywhere in your home.

what do you do with it?

      George
      Vote: Thumbs down!

It's not quite pretty enough to be a stand-alone piece. Maybe in a callection of glass veggies, but that would probably become too expensive.

      Gretchen

      Beautifully unique.

Very pretty. The designer should consider making more vegetables. A grouping of several different types in a glass bowl would look lovely in a dining room or kitchen.

Thanks for all of your questions and comments, everyone! There's a week left to vote, and we can't wait to find out whether this onion ornament is the next uncommon good. To answer your question, Kim, it is 3-dimensional. It's 3.5 inches high and 2.5 inches in diameter, so it's the size of an actual small onion.

I'm not a fan of onions, but this is quite pretty and I find myself returning to look at it. This would be a cute addition to the right kitchen.

What a beautiful stylized onion! Could be used as a tree ornament or a decoration for a kitchen. I love the artist that does these pieces... maybe Uncommon Goods could sell a whole glass veggie set?

      Rita
      Vote: Thumbs up!

Hopefully there is an easy way to hang it on the window.

      Megan
      Vote: Thumbs up!

It's pretty and whimsical but I think it would seem strange on it's own; better as a set with other veggie an fruit ornaments.

It's beautiful; especially grouped with the other glass veggies (and lemon!). Perhaps a "Kitchen Window" special group price?

not even sure what I would do with a glass onion

      Michelle

I could see a double digit price if it were made from colored glass but this is just painted. $25 is a lot to pay for a "zesty bauble"

I like this a lot better as a suncatcher than the handblown suncatchers shown earlier. This is whimsical, for those of us who spend a lot of time chopping, dicing, slicing, etc you get the drit.
