- the story
Red Bird, Red Bird, What do You See?
Inspired by outdoor time spent in her North Carolina garden, folk artist Margaret Taylor created these rustic red cardinals as an homage to the striking beauty of local wildlife. Handmade using antique heart pine from Georgia and old spindles, silverware, and ceiling tin, each bird brings a bit of down-home charm wherever it goes. Displayed in a lush garden landscape, it's sure to pique the curiosity of neighbors and wildlife, alike. Handmade in North Carolina.

Margaret Taylor's business of creating artful picture frames, mirrors, furniture, birdhouses, garden and wall art actually began as a hobby. Taylor gained experience and knowledge helping her father on house projects. She was inspired by the fundamental beauty of paint and texture, and she soon gained the confidence and ability to imagine and create anything. Her business, Dryads Dancing, is now in its eleventh year.
Taylor has recently started working with other artists and designers, such as Simone Wilson. The purpose of the business is to make art that is unique, affordable and available. collection
