recycled street sign briefcaseby Tripp Gregson
- the story
Life in the Fast Lane
A perfect gift for the man about town, this one-of-a-kind briefcase is not for those who drive in the slow lane. The aluminum case, created by artist Tripp Gregson, gets its dose of color and modern iconography from lawfully salvaged traffic signs. Interior organizer and file pockets, combination locks, a laptop compartment and carrying strap get you to the office and back, while its unique exterior make this briefcase anything but pedestrian. Made in China. The veneer work is done in North Carolina. Each piece is one of a kind and will vary.

Tripp Gregson builds traditional and artistic furniture and accessories from vintage materials and objects. He calls his work "Retro Nouveau," because antique wood, hardware, old signs, doors and other found objects are utilized in the construction.
His friends think of him as a partially reformed packrat, but far afield from the salvage yard, his artistic work conveys a fun, capricious energy through new juxtapositions of shape and color.
Recently his "Jazz Series" furniture pieces utilizing recycled traffic signs have been featured in art galleries and magazines across the United States.
