As the creator of Reborn Glass I gotta give this product a BIG thumbs up! I have been wearing an assortment of these barrettes for the past 2 years...ironically,as we launch this concept-- I just cut of 17 inches of my ponytail for Children With Hair Loss. These pieces have been properly annealed for strength, and the circle detail is actually cut from the neck of a whiskey bottle! Keep asking for the GREEN--they have one hiding somewhere :o)

I'd be concerned with how heavy this clip would be. My daughter has fine hair and has a hard time getting clips to stay in. Something made from glass would surely be far too heavy to stay in her hair. The price is high for a hair clip, too.

so far this and the recycled antique coin charm bracelets I saw eariler are the best things I have seen,both items are well priced.(keep in mind hand made, and in the case of the silver coin/daisy, a worthwhile investment in this economy) I like handmade.I like clever reuse. As the creator of Reborn Glass, I am compelled to weigh in once more...I would just like to add that our barrettes were never intended for a 6 year old to wear to gymnastics class! They are 4 inches, which is a large barrette-- with a double lock French clip that supports the weight nicely. I really enjoy reading all this feedback :o)

What a great idea! I have purchased a recycled glass nightlight and it is absoltely beautiful. It is hard to describe, but the glass is not as fragile as you might think. Not sharp at all. I am looking forward to seeing more products from Reborn Glass at Uncommon Goods!

How heavy is it? Dimensions? Sizes? Is the clip a usual cheap dimestore clip, or is it good and strong and well attached? What's to keep it from sliding down thin hair, or being too small to clip into thick hair? Love that it's both translucent and reflective. That's elegant and unusual.

I love this idea, I'm just worried about it's durability. I have thick hair and tend to break clips like this as I'm trying to do my hair. I wouldn't want glass shards all over the place. But if it were really durable, large enough for thick haired ladies, and maybe came in a set of two for that price--I'd be all in.

I love the fact that it is from recycled material, and that each barette will be unique. It's sparkle would be so pretty in your hair. In California we have a "Glass Beach" and glass found there can be in many colors. It could easily be made up in different colors. My only concern would be if it would be too heavy to stay in your hair, depending on the mechanism it is formed on.

I disagree with all the people worried about breaking the glass in your hair. I think the glass would be fairly thick and even if it wasn't, who falls down and hits their head regularly? How much strength does one really need to exert to put in a hair clip? Over dramatic!

I like the idea and if the circle is off center, that's part of being handmade. I imagine that each one will be a bit different anyway. I would like to see more colors and options. I have a fused glass baratte I bought years ago and it is has held up fine. But I haven't dropped it on a tile or concrete floor either.

Love this idea and the design. I have never seen glass hairclips but I would imagine with a sturdy clip base the sky would be the limit on great glass designs.

We've added dimensions in the copy and we've worked closely with the designer to round the edges of the glass. As with any glass, this clip could break if handled improperly but is sturdy enough to withstand most day-to-day use. Again, thanks so much for all your comments!
