In The Loop

Handmade by Matt and Jill Meyer from recycled hybrid bike tires, each of these one-of-a-kind belts has a distinct tread pattern, an edgy, road-tested patina, and an actual bike chain buckle, bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase "what goes around comes around." The buckle is naturally bendable, but offers enough rigidity to keep your pants securely in place.

Tired of his pants falling down while he biked around the city and even more tired of the boring old belts in his drawer, Matthew Meyer decided to take matters into his own hands. He'd seen a few similar belts on the market, but not exactly what he was looking for. So, after much tinkering around in the garage and taking on his wife, Jill as his creative partner (also his main employee and worker bee), their "waste to waist" upcycled belt business was born. All belts are unique and hand crafted, made from recycled bicycle parts, and 100% vegan.

Perfect gift for my 13yr old BMX-loving nephew who is difficult to shop for. He was so excited by it, he immediately put it on and said that he was going to wear it every day.

Comments about UncommonGoods Recycled Bike Tread Belts:

The idea of the product was great. It was too small for my brother and too funky for him. The buckle was a little challenging to fit at first. The belt was also a bit bulky because of the tire tred. I would be more selective in who I buy this for, if I bought it again - it would definitely have to a be a cyclist who is trendy.
