The Sound of Salvage

In his Central California coast workshop, Jared Kirby creates speakers with reclaimed wood that’s infused with storied history—from weathered pine salvaged from an early 20th century stable, to redwood that once fenced-in an intrepid bulldog—working with these curated woods to showcase their naturally imperfect beauty. Drawing on his experience as a musician, sound engineer and custom guitar maker, Kirby works in concert with the wood’s natural resonance to produce speaker systems with warm, multidimensional sound, supported by a built-in tripath audio amplifier, two 3” woofers, a neodymium dome tweeter, and a rechargeable Bluetooth module for convenient, wireless playback. These high-performing speakers will help bring your digital audio files to life, complementing your daily soundtrack in handcrafted style. Handmade in San Luis Obispo County, CA.

For Jared Kirby, music has been a lifelong passion. After years of playing music and studying sound recording engineering, Jared’s first introduction to woodworking was with a local guitar maker, where he learned the ins and outs of wood tone and resonance through high-end guitar making.

Jared has taken his passion for music and great sound, and applied it to his handmade, one-of-a-kind home speaker systems. Utilizing the beauty and rustic character of salvaged and reclaimed wood, blended with modern technology, to create a compact speaker system with beauty, convenience, and that delivers beautiful sounding music.
