All that Glitters

This ring is the motherlode of sophisticated charm. Its sterling silver band is cast by jewelry artist Nancy Nelson from a handcrafted mold made from green twig found in the ancient woods of West Virginia. Rather than the hard formality of a cut stone, it holds a rough-hewn nugget of iron pyrite. In modern times, pyrite's deep golden luster earned it the nickname "fool's gold," but many cultures have long believed that it promotes abundance and positive energy. Through Nelson's keen ingenuity and masterful craftsmanship, the ring looks perfectly timeless—as easily a relic of an ancient era as it is a glamorous contemporary accessory. Handmade in West Virginia.

Nancy Nelson

Nancy Nelson believes that jewelry should evoke an emotion and tell a story for every wearer. Her passion for working with metals emerged while obtaining her BFA in Industrial Design. She enrolled in a metalsmithing class where she made her first sterling silver ring. After that point, she was hooked and continued developing her own unique style.

A beautiful blend of modern shapes and rustic forms can be seen in all of her designs. Nancy's works reflects a love for nature, where she finds inspiration in the beauty that surrounds us. "Every natural finding I have casted is discovered by me usually not too far from home in the rural countryside. Once I find that perfect object with beautiful shapes and texture, I bring it back to my studio and figure out how I can transform it into a simple, feminine and rustic chic piece of jewelry." Every one of Nancy's pieces is hand-assembled in her studio in West Virginia.
