Color Outside The Lines

Bulgarian artist Donna Hadjipopov kiln-fires spun red clay and drags rich drips of color over its lively turns to create each curvaceous vase. Hadjipopov brushes and blows on streams of wet paint to create her distinct drippy, linear style, ensuring that no two works of art are exactly alike.

Created to help alleviate poverty in Bulgaria, Hadjipopov's ceramics use lead-free glazes and feature an artist's stamp on the base reading, "Made in Bulgaria for Bulgar." Each is one-of-a-kind and will vary slightly.

    Comments about RAINDROP STRIPED VASE:

I bought this for my sister in law who loves philanthropy, and she appreciated that this vase supports poverty in Bulgaria. Came just as pictured but of couse they are handmade so no two are exactly alike.

      Comments about RAINDROP STRIPED VASE:

I bought this as an anniversary gift (9 years = pottery). I liked the design and that the proceeds go to feed the hungry. It is a small vase but just the right size in my opinion. It came with a message about how it's made but I can't remember if it mentioned that the proceeds feed the hungry ("Bulgar for Bulgaria" printed on the vase, I think). My parents seemed to like it!

I don't personally like the item itself, but I like the background story. If nothing else, I would buy it for that reason.
