raccoon and fox tea light holdersby Hadley Sedgwick
- the story
Best known as nocturnal bandits, these handmade critters are about to steal your heart. Their mask-like eyes glow with excitement--and also with the battery-powered tea light inside (included). They have both a secure base to stand on and hook for dangling overhead, and they can pose as either lanterns or mischievous bird feeders. Artist Hadley Sedgwick crafts each one individually, giving them whimsical details, like a back access opening that's shaped like each animal's characteristic tail. Their homespun charm is cheerfully plotting ways to infiltrate your home or patio decor. Handmade in Whitmarsh Island, Georgia.
Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

- the maker
A graduate from the Herron School of Art, Hadley Sedgwick currently works in ceramics, bringing sculpture to outdoor and garden settings. Art retailers across the country find demand for her spontaneity, taste and playful expression. Hadley lives on Tybee Island, Ga. with her kiln, husband and two dogs.
"These pieces are me--they are expressions of who I am," Hadley said. "These small animals have my own naivete, innocence and spontaneity. Further beneath the surface, they all bear wounds and scars, permanent lines rendered awkwardly across their faces and bodies. Yet, against this backdrop an inner beauty shines through. Glossy, shimmering, bright colors, and cute, childlike expressions suggest true personal transformation."
