Two Sides of the Coin
Are you someone who enjoys racing through your money? Or are you more of a slow and steady saver? Either way, these streamlined animal banks are clear winners.
A sleek re-imagining of the tortoise and the hare, these porcelain coin banks reduce the animals' curves to a geometric pattern of angular planes. The unglazed, white surface adds to their contemporary look. Uniquely, the turtle's coin slot is in his mouth, requiring you to pick him up for the coins to settle as you "feed" him. Both banks feature a removable stopper underneath for easy access to coins. Made in China.
Sold separately.
- Item ID: 21288
- Materials: unglazed porcelain
- Tortoise: 6" L x 5" W x 2.25" H; Hare: 4.50" L x 4" W x 7.25" H
- Dust off with a damp cloth.

These sleek sculptures give "piggy" banks a place in modern design. Would you stash your pennies in the turtle as you crawl toward something you're saving for or drop your bucks in the bunny to keep fast cash on hand?

If it had some color and detail to it, then it might be better.

What adult would like a piggy (or rabbit or turtle) bank, and what parent would buy a highly modernist-styled bank for their child?

I do like the minimalist design, but I don't know that I would need a piggy bank and I don't think I would buy it for a child.

nice idea, very clean and pretty, but made in China and STILL $25? Don't think so.

Assembly line products made in China do not fit in the uncommon goods product line

Rabbit is cute but I try to avoid buying anything made in China if I can help it (not all that easy to do these days).

Not worth the money. Why do we keep seeing "unique" items for the Uncommongoods line being made in China? Since these types of items fall in the disposable income category, I believe most of us would be willing to spend a bit more for something made in the USA.

Cute "do-dads," and I like the turtle because I collect them; but, again, overpriced as banks and dull as artworks.

Love the design-reminds of origami! The simplicity is also part of what makes these so unique. Very cute-my favorite is the rabbit!~*(*^_^*)*~

I refuse to pay $9.99 for a decorated piggy bank, no way I would pay $25 for an unglazed piggy bank.

Love these and would definitely buy them for my child--but agree with those who are objecting to non-US manufactured items. These would be a luxury consumable. I don't know how much STUFF anyone needs.

China, China, China.. what is going on here are you aiming to be the new WALMART????
Cassie, UncommonGoods Community Moderator
Hi, David. While we are proud of our made in the USA items, we won't discriminate against any country. Our merchandising and sustainability teams work hard to check the facts behind every uncommon good, and we make sure that all products are produced under environmentally friendly and ethical conditions.

Personally I love these. Looking through the comments there are a lot of people saying they are too childish and no adult would buy them, but I am an adult and I adore them!
