Bring Generosity To The Table
UncommonGoods and New York-based food rescue organization City Harvest proudly present the Plate with PurposeTM. Chosen from over 90 entries in the Harvest Plate Design Challenge, graphic designer Michael White's iconic design garnered the community vote for uniquely capturing City Harvest's generosity of spirit. White's compassionate cityscape reminds us that food is essential--everyone deserves a helping with heart.
$5 from every purchase of this plate directly benefits City Harvest, supporting food collection for New York's hungry men, women and children.
Our amazing vendor partner donated these plates to allow us to offer such a generous donation during this trying time.
City Harvest is a pre-existing organization that feeds New York City’s hungry. Since Sandy, City Harvest has been accepting donations of non-perishable food from citizens and prepared foods from partnering restaurants across the city. They have rented additional trucks and hired additional temporary staff to keep food moving to where it is needed most. In the week following the storm, City Harvest delivered over a million pounds of food from their Long Island City, Queens location to emergency food partners across the city – the most ever for City Harvest in a week.
Each plate is hand-cut from pre-consumer, post-industrial recycled glass and hand-screened with color. Handmade in Pennsylvania.
Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

this design is one of the few I would actually want to have as dish ware. It's cute and modern.

The image is not even well balanced. Too much weight on the left side.

Kind of boring

Clever, but how big is the plate? That makes all the difference... As a big serving plate for hors d'oevres at a smart cocktail party, I like it. Once again, the price is a bit stiff...

Thanks for the question, George! The winning design will be etched on an 11"x11" square plate. Results are coming soon and we're excited to find out the winning design!

I wish is it was not a specific city. I live in Seattle, have no lawn and big vegatable garden. I'd rather not have a plate with the Empire State Building on it.

I like it... but if it were a different color, I'd like it more.
