Best Buds

No matter how your family grows and changes over time, you carry those roots with you for a lifetime. This unique, nature-inspired necklace celebrates that place where we all first began to blossom. Jewelry artist Nancy Nelson casts her silver pendant from an actual budding branch gathered from the forests near her West Virginia studio. Where the flowering buds on the branch would be, she instead mounts your choice of up to four birthstones—a sparkling way to honor the unique individuals that make up your family. The necklace makes a treasured gift for a mother or sibling, and serves as a way to keep those family connections always close to your heart. Handmade in West Virginia.

Nancy Nelson

Nancy Nelson believes that jewelry should evoke an emotion and tell a story for every wearer. Her passion for working with metals emerged while obtaining her BFA in Industrial Design. She enrolled in a metalsmithing class where she made her first sterling silver ring. After that point, she was hooked and continued developing her own unique style.

A beautiful blend of modern shapes and rustic forms can be seen in all of her designs. Nancy's works reflects a love for nature, where she finds inspiration in the beauty that surrounds us. "Every natural finding I have casted is discovered by me usually not too far from home in the rural countryside. Once I find that perfect object with beautiful shapes and texture, I bring it back to my studio and figure out how I can transform it into a simple, feminine and rustic chic piece of jewelry." Every one of Nancy's pieces is hand-assembled in her studio in West Virginia.
