Steel Someone's Heart.
These plump penguin earrings are sure to sweeten up any outfit as they waddle into your heart. Trained as an architect, Kathleen Mattingly Dautel fuses techniques from her profession with her expert knowledge of metalsmithing to craft this/these adorable arctic bird(s). Each stainless steel bird is first drafted on the artist's computer and then laser cut. She then hand-files and sands edges to give each piece a smooth finish and a polished appearance. The wings and belly are then filled with epoxy resin, bringing each tuxedoed bird to life. Handmade in Raleigh, NC.
