True Grit

Artist David Petr captures the spirit of foot-powered adventure in this bold pair of photographic works. Each features the image of a vintage bicycle pedal – not in pristine condition, but with a life story of rust, scratches and grit on full display. These are juxtaposed against backgrounds of rich red and blue, evoking a spirit of courageous action.

The artwork is printed to the artist's exacting standards onto lustre photographic paper in order to produce its characteristic sharp color and detail. The art is then framed by a Master Framer, using all archival materials to preserve the artwork's quality. Produced in very limited number, this is a visual adventure just waiting to be grasped. Handmade in Winter Haven, Florida.

Sold as a set of two.

Limited edition of 10. All prints are signed and numbered by the artist.

David Petr

David Petr began crafting exclusive, larger-than-life photographic interpretations of iconic objects of our collective past in 2008. Rusted, dented and scratched items rich with patina are common topics explored under David's lens. The steadily growing body of work began with Petr's determined search for captivating objects from antique stores, flea markets, junk shops, online, and across the country. Hand-picked with an almost obsessive eye for quality, his found objects are orchestrated under the camera, often with several shots to create one final image. Shadows and highlights are precisely controlled, resulting in an image with uncompromising clarity. See all creations.
