Holiday Show-Off
If you've got it, flaunt it - especially if what you've got is this preening peacock ornament. It will look spectacular strutting its stuff around your holiday tree, or bringing a colorful flair to a bottle of wine or giftwrapping. Its teal and gold satin body has a foam filling that gives it a squeezable three-dimensionality. Iridescent sequins and tiny seed beads are added to create its shimmering plumage. The face, feet and other details are created with zardozi, a traditional Persian embroidery technique where tightly coiled wire is stitched to the fabric. Handmade by a group of artisans in Agra, India, who are part of a fair trade organization.
