Jen O'Neill

For designer Jen O'Neill, having a child was a major life turning point, both personally and creatively. Facing a host of new challenges, she began to think of the generations of mothers before her who had faced those same difficulties and gotten through them just fine. Drawing on her background in fashion and packaging design, she began to create beautiful genealogicalartwork that pays tribute to those forbearers. "Our family tree serves as an emotional reminder that we always have the wisdom, humor and experience of generations to draw upon." Her custom prints now allow others to experience that connection with the larger storyline of family history.

I am not a particularly computer saavy person. I was not able, after many attempts and several weeks of trying, to figure out how to attach the necessary form to my e-mail communication so that I could place my order for the Peacock genealogy wall art. I sent multiple e-mails and made several phone calls, including one to a young man who tried his best to talk me thru the form attachment process, unsuccessfully, despite his best efforts. I attempted to print out the form I had filled out on my computer, but the writing was too small to be legible & I was unable to enlarge it. I finally printed up my family tree from the database on my computer & mailed it to your offices.
From that source someone was able to transfer the information onto your form, in order for the artist to make up the piece. I want to give my profuse thanks to the multiple kind & patient employees who helped me accomplish a task which for them was relatively simple, but for me was almost an impossible hurdle. We got it done & I have received the finished product with which I am most pleased. It was a bit difficult to imagine what the chart would actually look like from the small photo of it in your catalog. I was happy to see that the names & dates were easy to read and the layout of the various family branches seemed to logically connect family members together.
I would suggest that you note in your catalog, that it is possible to add dates of birth & death along with the names of family members. Your sample photo only shows names, but I asked if it was possible to add dates as well and was thrilled to find out that I could do so. One of the major purposes of genealogy is to place family members in time, to be able to make comparisons among various generations. My only other suggestion would be to the artist, that she offer a few different color palates for her work. Color is a very personal thing. I would have preferred in addition to the lime green leaves to have a palatte of turquoise, peach & lavender, cooler colors than the red, yellow & orange. I believe my husband will be fascinated with all the family information contained in this gift. Thank you so much for your excellent service.
