Looking Sweet
Margaret Dorfman captures the essence of springtime in these gorgeous, shimmering cuffs. The brilliant circles of color suggest blossoms collecting on the surface of a pond, but Dorfman actually creates them using fresh fruits and vegetables. The most colorful varieties are cured, pressed, aged and dried into a thin sheet. The sheet is then fused to a copper cuff that shines through the parchment, producing a lovely glow. Handmade in California. Each is one-of-a-kind and will vary.
Choose one of two color combinations: Watermelon Radish/Zucchini/Thai Green Papaya (left) or Beet/Purple Cabbage/Watermelon Radish (right).

Margaret Dorfman
Margaret's work is made by hand from over 40 different varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables that are cured, dried, pressed and aged in a 10-14 day process. The translucent parchments that result capture and preserve the jewel-like colors and intricate structures that are characteristic of each fruit or vegetable. She calls this Vegetable Parchment, because the texture and translucency calls to mind the vellum parchments of medieval Europe.

Looked at this artist for months and couldn't decide on a color - finally got the beet cuff, and am so pleased with it. But now I want one with mixed colors too! This is a fantastic blend of materials and will be added to my gift giving list.

Very unique. Beautiful. Great touch by having each piece signed by the artist. Not sure the name of the item does it justice -- might want to emphasize the fruits/vegetables or hit on the Vegan/Vegetarian market somehow with the name.

Too delicate to be worn on a regular basis and a bit pricey.
Ali
Very, very pretty, but too expensive.

The words "one size does not fit all" truly comes into play here.

I really like these cuffs - but I would worry that they are too small. I got my dad's hands and wrists - not my mom's.

perfect for the Uncommon collection, something you can't find in your local jewelry store. Natural materials is a plus.

Pricey and they look like they would break after a few wearings.
