Betsy Walton paints and draws in an airy studio in Portland, Oregon. She uses saturated color, crisp edges, and atmospheric texture to create ethereal images inspired by nature and spirituality. Her work is shown regularly in galleries in the US and abroad. In addition to her fine art practice, Betsy works as an occasional illustrator for clients including Target, Urban Outfitters, Keds and Chronicle Books. Betsy earned a BFA in printmaking from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. She is madly in love with her two-year-old twin daughters.
Showcasing a figure being greeted into a new world, Betsy Walton creates a transitory image in "Paradise." A thin outline of a door separates the two planes, while the greeter offers a flower to welcome the new arrival.
Blending richly saturated color with crisp edges, Betsy Walton creates a vibrant alternate world that's brimming with atmospheric texture and ethereal imagery. Inspired by both natural and dreamlike elements, her work bridges the gap between fantasy and reality. Made, printed, and framed in Portland, Oregon.
