- the maker
Kim Smith's collages are meant to be intimate, thought provoking, peaceful and just plain fun. Creating art is a form of relaxation for Smith, and she wants her pieces to inspire others.
Born in Seattle, Washington, Smith spent 10 years of her childhood in Germany. She has degrees in design, economics and an MBA. She studied art through friends, her own observations and exploring her own creativity.
Her travel experiences in Europe caused her to be inspired by the Dada, Bauhaus, and Wiener Werkstatte movements, as well as Russian Constructivism. Smith enjoys working with old material from everyday life and putting it to new use.
