Magical Drinking
These ingenious wine glasses are about to give you a new way of looking at your favorite vintage. Inspired by the op art movement of the '60s, the glass goblets are precision cut with straight and curved lines that create an illusion of shifting depth. Hold the glass to eye level, and you can see what appears to be a bulging sphere against a grid background. Add some wine to the glass, and the illusion is heightened as light bends and refracts through the liquid, magnifying and shifting the image.
The glasses pair perfectly with a set of solid cork coasters, printed on each side with another illusion, where a warping checkerboard field seems to flex into an hourglass shape that echoes the wineglass that rests upon it. Glassware made in France, decorated in PA. Coasters hand-printed in New York on Portuguese cork.
