Charleston architect Rush Dixon's innovative throwback lets any host handle the drinks and entertainment with just one hand. Inspired by the long-forgotten Theodore Low bottle opener from the 1930s, Rush's one-handed marvel references the old while meeting the demands of the modern entertainer. With the squeeze of its thumbhole trigger, this seamlessly designed device pries tops and catches detached caps with the help of an ingenious magnetic fulcrum.
This sophisticated interpretation of the classic bottle key is cast out of polished stainless steel, giving it a little sparkle. Plus, each stylish accessory comes in a keepsake tin case with an old fashioned aesthetic that evokes the nostalgia and charm of the soda fountain. Made in China.

We're all about uncommon designs, and this one is definitely above the bar. We love the one-hand functionality, the sleek look, and the modern twist on an old-fashioned concept. Would you gift this handy bottle opener to a beer-lover or home bar enthusiast?

Pretty cool for one armed folks. LOL!!!

Love the idea, classy design, and a great price($0). Depends on the final price, around $15 would work.

It's a fun idea but it's Made in China so no.

Hey, Karen! Thanks for voting. We decided not to display the estimated prices this week for a couple of reasons. Since they are estimated, they're not always quite right. We don't want this influencing the conversation. We want our voters to read the product story, consider the materials, and tell us what these designs are worth. We're looking forward to reading a ton of great comments!

Who really needs this Chinese doo-dad? Give us arthritis sufferers something we can use without pain.

I probably would not give a bottle opener for a gift unless something about it would make it special to the receiver...like the portability and convenience of the Wally Wallet Bottle Opener or the Baseball Bat bottle Opener for a fan of a particular team.

Who wants to mess around with this when you just want to open your bottle of beer?

Love gadgets but I am not sure I would buy it. I'm neutral but had to vote thumb up

It would require deomstration and/or an explanation and then so you walk off with it? does the cap end up on the floor? Seems like a cool idea but not very practical

I can't really see this being of any convenience... When are you going to be having that bottle opener conveniently on your hand when you grab a beer? It just wouldn't happen... Why not just grab it with both hands and open it that way!

I doubt this can really be used one handed without quite a bit of practice. It is novel, but ultimately just annoying.

this is so different. I never seen anything like this. Please dont put a high pricetag on it.

Interesting that someone made the comment about one armed folks. There are people who can only use one hand, or have arthritis; and this looks like a really useful tool for them. Walk a mile in their shoes before you LOL.

Super cool gift for a drinker in the family or a friend. I love it. I want one.

I don't think I would use it. There's not to many things that open this way anymore.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! @Christina, the top contains a magnet so the cap won't fall off on the floor once you open the bottle. @Sally, a video is a great idea! @Tarra, the opener really does work with just a squeeze! We had fun testing it around here. Does that change your vote?

Seems a bit pointless...would be faster to just use a regular one.

I'd say a $15 price point would be reasonable.

Should have used a guy's hand to model this... it's a great 'joke' gift for Football Sundays I think!

who cares if it takes one or two hands? Maybe if you have only one hand this would be great but doesn't make me want to buy it.

Cassie, if you're not going to display the price, you should probably change the checkboxes to not include "The estimated price is too high." as an option. As for this item, it's kind of a stupid pet trick. Show your friends a couple of times and then nobody cares anymore.

IF I could see it demonstrated that it works easily with one hand, I would buy it for my son, who's left arm is paralyzed. I wouldn't spend the money for any other reason.

Thanks for pointing that out, Elena. Over the last few weeks we've been trying some new things in our voting app. We're looking for insightful, design-focused feedback, so we've decided to leave the prices out for a while. I passed your comment along to our tech team, and we'll work on getting that option removed from the check boxes.

Looks like fun but I expect it is much harder to use than it implies. There is probably a reason the old one is no longer around.

liked it till I saw made in China. Working hard to support manufacture and creativity here at home - and our own economy. Looking for local products
