I think people will only get that this is an olive if the rest of the room was martini/cocktail themed.If the ball was green instead of silver it would make more sense, and maybe if the pen looked a bit more like a swizzle stick.

like the idea but not the execution. something about the red "olive pit" looks odd/ out-of-place since the rest of the piece - including the body of the "olive" is silver. perhaps it would work better with some hint of green OR with the entire kept silver?

Simple and visually interesting. I think you should also offer this in a green option so it looks like an olive (although the silver is more abstract, and therefore more intriguing). Lower the price and you have a winner, especially for co-worker gift giving around the holidays. I hope for this price, it comes with the pen...
