Music in the Air

This upbeat banner is a great way to bring some visual harmony to your outdoor decor. It's composed of stainless steel music notes in bright, jazzy colors. Artist Jennifer Utsch orchestrates each piece, cutting them from recycled steel. The notes stretch along a metal chain, alternating with traditional Noah bells from India—such bells are believed to be soothing to the soul with their chiming. Utsch is inspired by the traditional prayer flag banners of Tibet. As with music, the Tibetans believe that the positive energy of their prayers will be carried by the wind to bless the surrounding world. Handmade in India and California.

Jennifer Utsch

Artist Jennifer Utsch has always been passionate about art and creating. Seeing promise, her high school teacher, urged her to enroll in art school. Like so many, Jennifer never believed there was a future for her in art; so, she veered in the opposite direction and graduated with degrees in Spanish and International Relations. She pursued careers in Law Enforcement, Firefighting and Real Estate.

Eventually, she found her way back to her first love in art. Wanting to work with people and the environment, Jennifer began to envision how she could make the interconnections of these passions into her life's work.

Now, she collects "trash" and makes it "work" for her; it is in this simplicity that creates beauty and allows new ideas to flow. collection
