A journal isn't just a place for capturing thoughts and experiences. It's also a way to discover how you've transformed over time, and this particular volume illustrates that growth in an extraordinary way: run your thumb across the edge of the pages, and a flipbook-style animation appears at the right side edge, following a caterpillar on its path to becoming a butterfly. A collaboration between artist Charlotte Kimberly and animator Mathew Tangye, the illustrations are lovingly rendered while sticking to the margins and allowing your words plenty of room to fly on their own. Made in China.

We love this clever collaboration from artist Charlotte Kimberly and animator Mathew Tangye. It features plenty of room for writing or creating your own drawings, and the flipbook-style animation might just help your imagination take flight! This version features the metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly. What other stories and colors would you like to see?

I think the flip animation of this journal would be exceptionally cool to see. I'm not a big journaler, but I have friends who are. This would be an excellent gift for them! Also would like to see colors other than pink and perhaps other animation options.
