Find Your Horizon

"I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."

Engraved on a disk of lead-free pewter and accented with a compass on one side and an anchor on the other, the immortal words of William E. Henley will remind you that it's never too late to change your course.

Henley, one of the first British poets to write in free verse, penned the words in 1875 for his poem "Invictus." Made in Rhode Island.

UNCOMMON KNOWLEDGE: While in the hospital facing the amputation of his second foot (he had already lost one as a child), Henley befriended author Robert Louis Stevenson, and they collaborated on a few plays. Henley is actually the basis for Stevenson's famous character Long John Silver from the novel Treasure Island.
