Patricia Bridges

Her formal training comes from early days with the League of New Hampshire craftsmen and workshops with well-respected potters from ceramic centers such as Penland. As a young apprentice for a studio potter in western Massachusetts, Bridges gained skills and appreciation for good functionality and design in clay. Creating art with an emphasis on functional forms has always been a driving force in her work. Her portfolio spans from serving pieces, platters and lamps to artisan yarn bowls. “It’s important to me that what I make gets used in everyday life, and that each pot, speaks to its new owner with every use”. Her yarn bowls have been coveted by knitters around the world and have been featured in Vogue Knitting. She is an avid knitter, and has personally tested and refined her own yarn bowl design.
