This living roof birdhouse comes with organic soil, succulent cuttings and a hanging kit, making it a breeze to start your own succulent garden while providing all the hippest birds in your 'hood with a funky new place to relax. You'll want to give your new succulents about 8-10 weeks to "root" in the birdhouse and keep the roof slightly moist throughout. Afterwards, the planter, made from redwood by Heather Auchter, can be kept fairly dry and watered with a spray of the hose. Handmade in California.

please note: succulents will take approximately 8-12 weeks to "root". the roof should be kept slightly moist while rooting. thereafter it can be allowed to go fairly dry and watered with a fine hose spray. as the plants grow, they can be pinched back to keep them compact if desired. that cutting can be added to living roof or planted in a pot to start another succulent.
