- the story
A Home to Call Their Own
Ready to test out that green thumb while bringing all the birds to your yard? This living roof birdhouse comes with organic soil, succulent cuttings and a hanging kit, making it a breeze to start your own succulent garden while providing all the hippest birds in your 'hood with a funky new place to relax. You'll want to give your new succulents about 8-10 weeks to "root" in the birdhouse and keep the roof slightly moist throughout. Afterwards, the planter, made from redwood by Heather Auchter, can be kept fairly dry and watered with a spray of the hose. Handmade in California.

- This is a complete kit with succulent cuttings, soil, and rooting powder. The succulents require planting upon receipt of the kit.
Please note: succulents will take approximately 8-12 weeks to "root". The roof should be kept slightly moist while rooting. Thereafter it can be allowed to go fairly dry and watered with a fine hose spray. As the plants grow, they can be pinched back to keep them compact if desired. That cutting can be added to Living Roof or planted in a pot to start another succulent.
Due to the reclaimed nature of the wood, some variance is to be expected.
- the maker
I started Succulents Galore with the love for plants that were easy care for busy people. My living wall planters made out of reclaimed wood are one of my favorite projects. I feel very fortunate to have found my niche working with succulents! collection
