Reuniting The Trafficked Children Of Nepal

A powerful memoir exposing both the beauty and devastation in war-torn Nepal, Little Princes is the riveting story of Conor Grennan's journey to reunite trafficked, Nepalese children with their families.

What begins as Grennan's year-long trip around the world in 2004, evolves into a volunteer mission at a Kathmandu orphanage. Months into his work, a chance encounter with a local villager changes everything: Grennan discovers that these children weren't orphaned, they were kidnapped. Their parents were alive and well--and very far away. And so begins Grennan's inspiring trek through unpaved roads, villages without electricity and rebel strongholds to reunite his troupe of children with their lost families. Printed in China. All copies come with a signed bookplate.

An excerpt from Little Princes:
"I was struck by how viciously the civil war had torn this country apart. Children had been taken by traffickers and the door to their village had been slammed shut by the Maoists. Nobody could get in or out, even to check if their family members were still alive. I felt suddenly overwhelmed by the amount of work that needed to be done in Nepal."

As a result of his experience, Grennan launched a non-profit called Next Generation Nepal (NGN) in August 2006 to build on his efforts. NGN has expanded its reach beyond the original orphanage--it seeks out thousands of abandoned children and offers them the same shelter, food, medical attention, and support offered to the first Little Princes.

Says Grennan of his personal journey: "[I]n writing it, I realized it was more than just [the children's] story. It was the story of how somebody like me, somebody with no relevant skills whatsoever, no deep passion for volunteering, no profound desire to make an impact on anyone's life but his own, found himself sacrificing his comfortable way of life to try to improve the lives of these young children on the other side of the world."

        Comments about LITTLE PRINCES:

I loved this book because it reminds me of what is really important in our lives. The author had no idea that he would travel down the road he did when taking on the venture he writes about. There is more out there in this world than the daily grind. We can all easily make a difference in the lives of others.

            Comments about LITTLE PRINCES:

I highly recommend this book! It's joyful, sad, brave and inspiring at the same time. An excellent read with an important message: YOU CAN make a difference. One person at a time. The added beauty of this book is that it challenges you to reexamine your own values, to set aside judgment and to go through life with an open mind. As the saying goes "A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions". Don't miss out on the opportunity to be inspired!

This extraordinary book is both touching and thrilling. Little Princes is the story of Conor Grennan - a young American searching for new experiences whose travels take him to Nepal where he finds wild adventures as well as purpose and, ultimately, love.
