Pipe Dream

Industrial hardware gets a light touch in this inventive, contemporary lamp. With a shape that hints at more traditional goose-neck lamps, this piece is crafted by hand from galvanized iron pipes and fittings. An adjustable joint near the base lets you raise and lower the level of the recessed halogen light, which turns on and off with a faucet-style, rotating switch. Four plastic feet protect your desktop surfaces from scratches. Galvanized iron is naturally rust-resistant, but a patina may form over time. Made in Israel with materials from Italy, China and Germany.

David and Anati Shefa

Since 2008, husband-and-wife team, David and Anati Shefa, have produced innovative, upcycled lighting products out of their studio in Israel. David earned his BA in industrial design from Shenkar Academy for Engineering and Design and Anati has a background doing editing for films. Their experience and interests come together in the form of funky lamps constructed out of repurposed pipes.

Anati and David bring raw materials directly from industrial sites to their workshop, based in Tel Aviv's industrial district. They take pride in using high-quality components, sourced from Israel and imported from Italy and China.

In their designs, they strive to give new meaning to the materials used. The couple promotes upcycling by shining a light on the interesting ways that these industrial materials can be transformed and reinvented. See all creations.
