HONEY BEAR VASE
$45.00

handmade

Grin and Bear It.

You're sure to sweeten up a single bloom when you prop it in Lesley Anton's unbearably cute vase. These buzz-worthy vases are hand-cast from actual honey bear squeeze bottles and finished with a glaze evoking the slick sheen of the sweet stuff they once held. Hand cast, hand tooled, and hand glazed in Los Angeles. Lesley says, "I like the fact that each of the bears is a little different, each having its own characteristics, and personalities. The drips and drops, pits, and splotches are what make them unique." Holds 1-2 small stems.

  • Item ID: 22036
  • Materials: cast porcelain
  • Approx. 6" H x 2" dia.
  • Care Instructions: Dishwasher safe, but recommend hand washing to ensure a nice long life for this sweet honey bear.

While these are designed to hold water, it is recommended to keep them dry as interior may be difficult to clean.

Please note: Glaze variations and imperfections are a regular occurrence with the high firing process and are integral to achieve the organic quality of our finishes. Glazes are idiosyncratic by nature and no two firings are exactly the same.

Lesley Anton

It may be no surprise that Los Angeles-based artist Lesley Anton once worked as a flight attendant – a job where she could catch fleeting glimpses of the world. Now, in her work with ceramics, she draws from a broad spectrum of inspiration glimpsed in the world around her - nature, architecture, body shapes, machinery - and transforms it into sculptural, functional art, ranging from undulating ceramic lamps to wheel thrown tableware. With a style described as "organic modern", her work calls to mind both midcentury, Danish modernism and Japanese minimalism. See all creations.
