Tough Love

You don't have to have your heart tattooed on your sleeve to show your ride-or-die devotion. Inspired by the similarities between needle felting and tattooing, artist and industrial designer Deborah Shavlik creates this tough and tender pillow using upcycled fabrics and natural wool fibers.

Personalize the heart banner with an anniversary date of up to seven characters or up to four initials for you and your sweetie. Highlighted by the bleeding lines indicative of a well-worn tatt, this sensitive biker-worthy pillow sends a permanent message of love without the trip to the tattoo parlor. Handmade in Brooklyn.

DeborahShavlik

Artist and industrial designer Deborah Shavlik creates her line of home furnishings and accessories in Brooklyn, NY. Incorporating upcycled fabrics and natural wool fibers, the pieces are made by hand using a combination of needle and wet felting processes. Since needle felting is similar to tattooing, it inspired this classic flash tattoo heart and banner design.

After working nearly 12 years as a professional industrial designer, which included travel to overseas factories, starting a high quality hand-crafted line made in the USA felt important to Deborah. Having worked with numerous mediums over the years, included woodworking, glass blowing, and painting, she continues to explore textiles and play with new mediums.
