hand cast wine knotby Robin Antar
- the story
Bold, With A Bright Finish
Honor the art of making wine by storing vintages in Robin Antar's artful sculpture. Cast from a hand-carved prototype originally whittled from a single piece of stone, this abstract, resin knot holds two bottles of wine. An impressive, sloping structure that's ideal for showcasing prized bottles or propped as a standalone sculpture.
Slide bottles into its nooks to reflect luminous hues throughout the structure. Inky tints or golden hues cast a glow along curves, depending on the bottles' translucency. With or without wine, it's the perfect way to show great taste as a bold centerpiece or room accent. Hand-cast of resin in Brooklyn. Finished with auto body paint.

- the maker
Internationally recognized artist Robin Antar discovered sculpting when an art teacher acquainted her with stone carving in her Atlantic City high school. Inspired by modern culture, Antar molds popular objects like candy, jean jackets and work boots out of stone, capturing their lifelike essence through custom-made paints, plastics and gold leaf.
"My mission as a sculptor is to create a visual record of modern culture by capturing contemporary, everyday objects in stone. By replicating the model on a life-scale along with marking and symbol[ic] details, I attempt to freeze the object in time as an artistic form of artifact," says Antar.
Antar's work has appeared in galleries around the world, including Sotheby's New York, and is a recipient of the Gold medal of honor by the Allied Artist of America in Sculpture.
