Amy Peterson and Diana Russell work with area women from local shelters to transform grafitti salvaged in Detroit into beautiful pieces of jewelry. Their artisans are hired out of local shelters and are taught the trade of jewelry making, along with life wellness, financial management, and entrepreneurship education. Each piece of jewelry they sell goes directly to supporting that mission. "Using a special process we can reveal all of the layers that make up a scrap piece of graffiti. It creates a beautiful palette of colors that serves as the inspiration for the women we hire," the designers say.
