- the story
Hit The Road
Blending the urban and natural worlds, Brooklyn artist Jacqueline Schmidt uses her signature quirk to create whimsical worlds where wildlife lives amidst our own modern luxuries. Enigmatic animals seamlessly blend with the imagined world around them, creating a charming and vibrant juxtaposition.
In Go The Extra Mile, an inquisitive horned ipala meets his chamois travel buddy in front of a retro stationwagon. A vibrant fluttering butterfly captivates their attention, seemingly leading the wayfaring duo to the road before them. Made in Brooklyn.

- the maker
Artist and designer Jacqueline Schmidt seamlessly blends the urban and natural worlds in all she
creates. This ability was first shaped by childhood migrations between New York City, where she was
born and raised, and her Catskills summer home.
Later in life, after receiving a B.A. in visual arts and modern dance and an M.A. in Creative Arts Therapy, Jacqueline felt inspired to share her unique artistic sense with wider audiences. This took form in 2008, when she founded Screech Owl Design, a stationery and lifestyle product company. Her work with Screech Owl and as former Creative Director of Moomah as well as with independent clients has made Jacqueline a recognized expert in multiple types of design such as textiles, interiors, web, graphic, toys and many others.
In addition to her commercial design work, Jacqueline's paintings and illustrations have been featured in galleries throughout the US. When not designing, making art or enjoying nature, she spends time at home with her husband, son Finn and cat.
Jacqueline has had full editorial features in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Elle Decoration, ReadyMade Magazine, Coastal Living, D esign Sponge at Home, Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin, Page Six Magazine, Glamour and Casa De Abitare. Her products has also been mentioned in Small Magazine, Design Sponge, O at home, Time out Magazine, New York Magazine, Cookie Magazine, Remodelista, Daily Candy, Vogue, Dwell, Gourmet, Metro Us and More. collection
