Paolo was born in 1970 in Asti to a commercial director dad, a painter grandmother and a cavalry officer grandfather. After studying art in his city, Paolo graduated from the European Institute of Design. He began his career as assistant to famous illustrators and photographers based in Turin including Enzo Isaia and Francesco Santullo. After a period working at an advertising firm, Paolo moved to Belgium for a year, where he worked for an agency that was responsible for transforming the comic book "Tintin" into 3D objects for animation. He returned to Turin in 1997 and took on roles in art direction, illustration and freelance photography for various agencies.
