Comments about Geemo Building Toy:

Thought this was a great toy when we got it. It was our one "splurge" gift... at this price point it was the one special gift.

The children have revisited it and played with it in different ways depending on their maturity and development. I would *love* to give it a good review....

BUT the end of each prong has a small magnet. Over 1 1/2 years of use, several of the small magnets have fallen out. Which, at best is very annoying considering the price of the toy - at worst is extremely dangerous considering the threat magnets cause when swallowed (surgery!)

also, it has a rubbery surface which seems to bond with dirt - it quickly looks and feels dirty.

Comments about Geemo Building Toy:

I first got my hands on Geemo at Toy Fair a few years back and loved the soft pliable units. It was fun to play with the magnets and build strange squishable skeletal creatures. I was looking forward to buying some for myself.

So when Geemo became available through Uncommon Goods I did. I checked my front porch several times a day to see if Geemo had arrived. When it did I ripped open the box and took out the five squishy soft Y shaped units to play with. I bent them this way and that way, made a necklace, made bracelets, made a dinosaur thing, and then...

I ran out of ideas pretty quickly. With only five pieces there just isn't that much you can build. The OCD child in me was frustrated that there was always one magnetic end left hanging, and who is supposed to be frustrated with a open-ended genderless play toy? I made a spinal cord on my fridge hoping I would return to it, but the magnets just aren't that strong and it kept sliding down.

In the end, this would have been a lot better if I could have afforded four or five sets. I would love to build some bigger strange creatures, or ones that stuck to my fridge better. Quite simply, it looks cool, but there isn't much you can do with them.
