- the maker
In 1993, Kaycee Binns was waiting tables at a cafe and dreaming of how to follow her dreams of a career in metalsmithing. One day she was invited to a baby shower, and not having a gift to give, she decided to make one herself. Remembering a story her grandmother had told her as a little girl, Kaycee melted down some left over sterling silver and created a rabbit-themed baby spoon.
The spoon was such a hit that she decided to devote herself to her passion full time. Kaycee began creating, making, polishing and shipping her work all by herself, and though it was a lot to handle, her grandfather helped her not give up. Gradually, she began to gain momentum, and her enterprise grew. She still designs all her work herself, though, and all of it is still made in the USA, cast in Rhode Island and hand finished in Atlanta.
Kaycee lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children.
