The Glass Forest
When the light catches them just right, this gorgeous bowl and platter become an intricate mosaic of a forest floor fading into a cloudy sky. Which makes sense for artist Brenda Griffith, whose fused glass finds inspiration from the lush and craggy nature that surrounded her youth in Montana, specifically Glacier Park.
Deep mossy, emerald and forest greens blend together with blacks and greys in these richly alluring dishes. The smooth inner lining displays depth as tiny bubbles, chunks of glass and liquid color flow together and is offset by a slightly more textured irredescent outer shell. Mesmerizing as its own display piece or as the background to fruit and hors d'oeuvre's, it will be a wonderful accent to any home. Made in Atlanta, GA. Sold separately.

Brenda Griffith
Born and raised in Montana, Brenda Griffith forged a style based on the design elements of geometric terraces laced by natural flourish based on nearby Glacier Park. This shows through her stained, fused and slumped glass pieces. Next she lived in Chicago, which infused her work with a strong Art Nouveau influence.
"I apprenticed with a stained glass artist for two years starting in 1985," she recalls. "During my tenure with her I was introduced to glass fusing and slumping and that, as they say, was all she wrote." Stained glass requires hard work, vision, technique and skill, and in the case of glass fusing, a little luck to get the piece just right. See all creations.
