Much of my work celebrates the healing power implicit within nature. Using medicinal plants and herbs as the primary image source, I create paintings that investigate the manifold ways in which plants can positively effect human life. In a world that is becoming increasingly artificial, the paintings are a reminder of the healing potential that lies in the roots, stems and leaves growing all around.
Celebrating plants' healing qualities, artist Scott Silvey created this vibrant artwork to showcase a visual remedy used to soothe infants. Details are written out in swirling script, while the leaves and blooms grow among them, like Scott's childhood garden that inspired this vibrant series. Made in Japan, printed and framed in Oregon.
