        Comments about UncommonGoods Foodie Dice:

I gave Foodie Dice to a friend who loves to cook, and she liked them so much she convinced me to order a set for myself.

They are great to use on nights when I don't know what I want to make for dinner. They're also handy when I come back from a farmer's market - I just roll everything except the seasonal veggie die and they give me ideas for what to do with the produce I bought.

The wooden dice have a nice weight to them, they're easy to read, and it's good to know they're American-made. Highly recommended!

        Making the Kitchen Fun Again

            Comments about UncommonGoods Foodie Dice:

Despite the other reviews here, I have found the dice to be quite enjoyable to use. As a single person I generally have hated to cook for myself. Mainly because I default to chicken and brown rice because it is easy. With the food dice though I have been able to not only expand my cooking range but have fun doing it. I also think of it as sort of my own personal version of the Food Networks Chopped show. All my friends always remark on them when they come over and I have started making receipe cards of the stuff I make with the food dice.

The only downside to them is they are wood and therefore are easy to get dirty. I have one that I actually spilled soy sauce on and it discolored it somewhat. Still the Food Dice are great and I would recommend them to everyone.

              Comments about UncommonGoods Foodie Dice:

So, I am a professional chef and I really like to play with my Foodie Dice because when I cook at home, I really like to be spontaneous and challenge myself. (Unlike when I cook in a restaurant or for a catering gig in which the menus are planned.)
So when I roll the dice, I stick 100% to what comes up and have been creating the best dishes. For example, I rolled: tomatoes, pork, bacon, millet, thyme, and broil last week, and made a grilled pork chop marinaded in thyme, served on a bed of millet cooked with bacon, and topped with a tomato salsa! Yum!

              Comments about UncommonGoods Foodie Dice:

              - This is a gift perfect for anyone who loves to experiment in the kitchen. We've all been in the kitchen and been bored with cooking the same old dinners. This is a great way to break outside of your comfort zone and learn how to use different ingredients and cooking styles. The flexibility is limitless you can just roll for the meat and cooking style or go crazy and roll them all for a dinner that you could have never come up with yourself.
              - Is the writing on the dice a little small, maybe, but it fills a niche and gives you that handcrafted feel that makes this something special.
Is this a requirement for every kitchen to have, probably not, but is this an amazing gift for anyone that loves to cook or even yourself if you want to have a little fun in the kitchen? Definitely! It's a designer gift for someone who appreciates food.

                Comments about UncommonGoods Foodie Dice:

A fun way to come up with meal ideas - the dice add an interesting twist to meal planning. I like the variety and balance of ingredients, and the number of possible combinations keeps things exciting.

Plus, my son likes the game-like concept of rolling dice for dinner when he helps plan a meal, and he's very receptive to trying out the combinations that he rolls even if they aren't things he's tried before, because it's all part of the game. We've already discovered one new vegetable we both like. (Parsnips!)

I like to roll before grocery shopping, in case there's an ingredient I don't have on-hand, but sometimes I'll use them spontaneously, and just reroll or adapt anything I don't have. Either way it's fun, and we've come up with some creative and tasty meals.

The dice are sturdy wood, stand up to repeated rolling, and seem the right size to me. I've never had any trouble reading, rolling, or storing them.

I was very disappointed when I received this product. I thought it would be a great gift, but the dice were small and the printing on the dice was sloppy, small and hard to read. It seemed to "chinzy" to give as a gift or to really even use.

When I received them I. Thought wow these are really tiny.. And for the price, I don't think so! A shame, because the idea is awesome!
