Hold That Call

The found-object creations of Tyagi Schwartz are both works of art and eye-catching furnishings. This tabletop lamp has its bulb shining from the base of a vintage telephone that seems to hover in the air. A length of hand-shaped steel tubing coils down to the phone's handset below, which now serves as the lamp's base. This playful reversal, and the transformation of telephone from listening tool to lighting implement, evoke the artwork of the Pop Art and Surrealist movements. Wherever you place it in your home or office, this brilliant objet d'art is sure to call for of conversation. The candelabra socket has a built-in high/low dimmer switch, and comes with a 25 watt bulb. Made in Brooklyn, New York.
