Pull the wool over your thighs for a decadent, exfoliating treatment rich with botanical lather. Handmade cold processed soap mixed from domestically-sourced essential and vegetable oils is sheathed in vibrant wool for a sumptuous shower experience.

Its nourishing oils soothe and delight with potent aromatherapy, while lively, marbled wool brightens up your bathroom. Lasts at least 6 months to a year. Increase lifespan by allowing to dry between uses. Handmade by Nancy Rosenthal in California.

Each is one-of-a-kind. Color and size will vary. Sorry, no choice of color.

When crafting her wool-felted botanical soap, Nancy Rosenthal takes great inspiration from nature's easy, but masterful beauty. "I strive to create that same beauty with layers of color, texture and fiber," she says.

Rosenthal delved into soap-making after receiving a tidy, homemade bar of oatmeal soap in 1996. She wanted more, and was committed to concocting her own natural blends. Soon enough, she discovered molds, cosmetic clays and the deeply nourishing benefits of essential oils.

Encouraged by friends and family, Rosenthal devoted herself full-time to producing locally-sourced bars and improved the home-grown product by wrapping it in colorful, natural-wool felt. She currently lives and works in California, where she handcrafts small batches of distinctive soap.

Comments about Felted Soap:

I got this as a gift, and was really excited. I got both the Bay Rum and Lavender which both smelled great.

I soaked it for the appropriate amount of time and it made a great lather.

However, once I let that thing touch my arm it was like washing my arm with fiberglass and wool does not bother me too much. This stuff did on the other hand. I had to cut the soap out and toss the "felted wool"

Smells good but so disappointing

By

About Me Brand Buyer

Comments about Felted Soap:

They smell so good.

Unfortunately: They are clearly made by someone who either doesn't understand felting wool or are cutting corners to make them as fast as possible.

I was given this as a gift. The gift giver thought I would love it since I have sheep myself. I wanted to love it. Sorry.

I cut mine in half after I tried to use it. Inside I found a medium sized piece of great smelling melt and pour soap and a bunch of unfelted medium grade wool. Just beneath the top layer of the felted soap is a puffy jumble of wool that is so unfelted that you still see some individual curls of the loose wool.

I urge the maker to keep up the great work with the melt and pour soaps because they smell terrific. But the 'felted soaps' are not really felted. It's just loose fiber. Back to the drawing board.

They send one and advise you that there is a drop down menu to select.

The soap is pretty and looks good in my bathroom, but it does not lather well at all. I almost started to wonder if there is any soap in there! I bought the Verbena fragrance, but if I could go back, I would choose lavender.

                    Comments about Felted Soap:

I gave this as a Christmas gift to my crafty mother-in-law-to-be. She seemed to like it a lot! It smells great (if you like lavender; I realize some people don't and it DOES have a pretty strong smell) and makes a unique and fun gift. It was bigger than it looked in the picture, so can probably be used for a long time in the tub or shower. She said that it produces a very light lather. My guess is that the more it is used, the more the soap will work into the wool and it might create a heavier lather with future use. The tag that came with it said it's reusable - by making a slit in the wool and inserting a new soap bar - which is pretty creative and neat. Over all, I'm very pleased with this fairly inexpensive, one-of-a-kind gift. Perfect for a girly-girl or a crafty, artsy lady!
