Color Me Happy
Get your child's creativity rolling as they transform ho-hum tennis balls into one-of-a-kind explosions of color and texture. Kids will love learning how to felt - the ancient craft of turning fluffy sheep's wool into a durable fabric-with this fun, hands-on kit. Just add warm water and soap to carded, wool fleece and squish away! In less than 5 minutes you'll witness the magic of felting and have a personalized bouncy toy that's perfect for tossing back-and-forth, juggling and it's great for pets too! Kit includes 100% wool fleece (in a variety of colors that will vary by kit), 3 tennis balls and complete instructions. Kit assembled in New Hampshire.

I don't have kids, but I still think that this looks like great fun! . . . Maybe for big kids too!

The concept of teaching kids felting is cool..but there surely could/would be better things that could be made with felting technique vs covering tennis balls.. boring result.

Something to keep kids engaged - at a reasonable price - and maybe give them a bit of education along the way!

Super rainy day project for kids that have the patience to see the project through. I would buy it.

This is a wonderful idea and craft project that I know as a mother of 2, kids will enjoy this and have fun telling there friends that they hand made their own tennis ball. the price is very reasonable and teaches a good skillset. I would purchase this product!

The only problem is that this is a one-time project...

I agree that there must be more creative felting projects than covering tennis balls.

I don't think this is a great use of a kid's time. How does it develop skills?

How often do you hear a child say "Mommy, I want to learn to felt!". I don't see the appeal.

It looks messy, could be a choking hazard. I'd pick one of these up for $5

Definatly a good idea and not too expensive you could entertain three kids doing this project in an afternoon and the wool is pre dyed and shouldnt cause much of a mess

Felting is really a cool thing to teach kids in a simple way.

is it re-useable,or only a one time thing?

My son would love this!

Thanks for the question, Patricia! The felt will completely cover the balls, so it may be difficult to remove once you attach it. It's better to consider this an arts and crafts project that you can hold on to (and have fun with!) once you're done.
Ann
Are the tennis balls included?
Cassie, UncommonGoods Community Moderator
Thanks for the question, Ann. This set includes 3 tennis balls.
Kathie
Good price, good idea, looks like fun, it's harmless and time consuming. Having done lots of felting I would like to suggest you get rid of the "in less than 5 minutes" line. It will take longer than that, guaranteed. Especially for kids who will not do it exactly right, or with the proper skills.
Amy
I'm all for creative toys for kids.
Casey
Does it ruin the tennis ball? My daughter plays and would probably love jazzing up her balls... If she could still play tennis with them afterward.
