Sew Adorable

These little cuties aren't just full of wool, they're stuffed with creativity and imagination. Each kit comes with everything needed for young (or young-at-heart) crafters to make themselves a sweet new friend. Make one, or build a personal menagerie of handmade animals. Designer Cynthia Treen loves the smile she gets to see on a child's face when they complete a project, creating something that's uniquely their own. She also likes making the earth happy -- using regionally sourced wool and felt, and packing her kits in recycled boxes with vegetable-based inks. Made in Providence, Rhode Island.

These little critters are cute when they're complete, but the finished product is only half the fun. We love that these felt creations are DIY, and that the designer, Cynthia Treen, uses regionally sourced wool. Which animal do you love most?

Love the penguin and kangaroo

This a great idea for kids to learn basic sewing technique. Too bad there aren't buttons for eyes, so that they would learn to sew on buttons, too!

I'm wish Joan. Love the penguin and the kangaroo. I's suggest making one or more in Christmas colors. Nice to have by the fireplace or on a tree.

Kids love to create something that is "Real" either to keep or to give to a loved one as a gift. These are so cute.

Love the idea. Alas, the children in my gift-giving panoply are still several years too young for the recommended age.

I have a little coin purse I knitted when I was nine years-old for my father who was away for several years overseas. He kept it; now I have it back again 60 years later, a real treasure. I still remember the very satisfying experience of creating it with my mother's help. Cynthia Treen's creative kits will have a similar effect on other children - and they may not need their mother's help!

My 11 year old daughter would love these! I think she'd enjoy making one for herself, making others for friends

I like it. It would also be cool if you can buy them individually. They should make a felt orca.

I dont see my kids sewing these. I see my kids getting angry because they sewed these and they dont look good enough, or getting frustrated halfway through and never finishing.

Cute, once my kids are old enough to do them

Adorable project and eco- friendly.

I made the rabbit and well, it turned out just like the photograph. Also took less time than I had expected. I'm going to make a whole herd of rabbits and then start on the penguins.

Love these great kits. I have made several. I especially like the flying birds. Grouped together they make a wonderful mobile.

My daughter would love the penguin, and would enjoy making it herself.

I just bought a pattern from Cynthia Treen a couple of weeks ago. Her patterns are great! Easy to follow, complete instructions and a the pattern itself is well constructed. You should definitely carry her kits. I have made more than 30 wool felt toys for my almost 4 year old daughter. She loves these MUCH more than plastic toys. In fact her plastic toys have long been forgotten. Highly recommend

Love these but have to wonder about the complexity of the sewing for an 8 year old.

Good idea, but not "cute" enough to get my 9 year old interested. Too complicated for the 7 year old

Love these, but I would only purchase them if I could purchase the animals individually.

something to do with your child that is creative and lasting - much better than having them want to be on Facebook

Barbara

A time to share with your child doing something creative that they will cherish. And who knows, maybe give to their child. Hopefully, mom or dad will get off Facebook and work with their child to make some of these!
