City of Light
The ultimate destination for lovers, Paris offers that rarest of moments when the rest of the world disappears, and all that matters is the love two people share, and the beauty that surrounds them.
From her studio in the Shawangunk Mountains of New York, artist Christine Schukow pays homage to the City of Lights, capturing the essence of its unparalleled charm in a three-dimensional, meticulously crafted miniature diorama, featuring the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop for a pair of lovers, embracing each other and the irresistible siren song of this most magical of places.
The vignette is mounted on beautiful cream matting, framed, and hand-signed by the artist, ready to adorn the wall of anyone who has ever loved in Paris - or simply loves Paris. Handmade in New York.

- the maker
Christine has been working as an artist all of her adult life, beginning with the designing of silk-screened clothing, then jewelry design and for the past 18 years in the creation of these wonderful framed dioramas. As people view her work a smile usually appears on their face as feelings of nostalgia and a yearning for the simpler things in life overcome them. Images of a sunny day at the beach, a country carnival, a drive-in movie, grandmas cottage in autumn, camping out, a honeymoon at Niagara Falls or a bicycle ride in the countryside. All these images and so many more portray her inner self, expressed in her art. Christine’s hope is that you also will take moments in this busy world to reflect on and enjoy the simpler things in life. collection
