These modern aviary apartments are crafted from uniquely textured, high-fired stoneware. The exterior is finished in vibrant colors, with a high-gloss finish that helps repel predators. The aluminum accents are rust resistant, and the high quality ceramic is durable and able to withstand year-round temperature extremes. The 1.13" opening makes a welcoming front door for chickadees, wrens, and other small bird varieties. For the home's human caretaker, the aluminum hanging assembly can be easily removed using the included hex key wrench in order to cleaning the interior whenever a feathered tenant moves out. • Care instructions: Wipe clean ceramic, aluminum, and stainless steel surfaces with a damp cloth. We recommend cleaning your bird house after each brood has left. Use a 10% bleach to water solution, scrub with a firm brush and rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry. If you live in an area that freezes please make sure the interior of the Drip Drop Bird House remains dry during the critical times of year when it freezes and thaws. Damage to the egg may occur during the freeze/thaw cycles if the interior is wet.
