I Dream of Diners

What could be more comforting than memories of your hometown's timeless shake shack? Count yourself to sleep with pancakes and pastrami in the soothing light of this nostalgic diner nightlight. Artist Jasmine Redfern's love for those suburban relics of the 50's and 60's inspired a wooden cutout designed to resemble the signs that always spelled comfort food on a drive around town or an interstate trip. It's a perfect gift for anyone with a fondness for the five and dime era -- all that's missing is the stainless steel exterior and the mashed potatoes with gravy. Handmade in New Paltz, New York.

Jasmine Redfern

Artisit/Designer Jasmine Redfern has been professionally designing and making fun and functional things for the home since 1993. She has been constantly making things since she was a child, but her love, well, obsession really, of all things colorful and patterned began in London where she studied textile design at art school. Jasmine draws from her appreciation for vintage signs, street signs and advertising to create her vintage inspired lighting. Jasmine and her husband handcraft each piece with attention and care in their quaint studio in rural New Paltz, New York, where their chickens and vegetable garden are in view. They feel strongly about supporting independent businesses, and doing what's right for the environment. They have a lot of fun making stuff for people! It has been said that Jasmine is secretly trying to cover the entire world, one outlet at a time, with color, pattern and light!
