doodle salt and pepper shaker setby Pedro Guerrero $36.00
- the story
Please Pass the Fun
Chalk it up to great intuition. Recently, fourth-generation potter Pedro Guerrero took a break from his studio work and let his whimsy run free. Lucky you! His charming clay pods, covered with blackboard paint, are simple but oh-so-inviting. Perched on cork stoppers, the hand-shaped shakers call out to be transformed with your creativity. Keep it simple with an S and P, or make faces, add stripes, even leave love notes. Comes with chalk so you can doodle, erase, and doodle some more, right out of the box.
Pedro is proud to be one of only four Master Potters in Nicaragua. He works in the pre-Colombian technique of his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents—though he is the first in his family to win awards and be showcased in international exhibitions. He hand-makes this fair-trade Doodle Salt and Pepper Shaker Set in San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, a noted center of ceramic artistry. Cork and chalk sourced from USA.
