A Shower of Creativity

Don't let your shower curtain get caught naked - decorate it yourself!

Made of high-density polyethylene, a strong, recyclable, breathable PVC-free material that is less likely to mildew than vinyl, this white shower curtain is like a blank canvas waiting to be filled. Draw patterns, scenes, messages and more. Fill it in all at once or a little at a time. Just make sure you cover it up!

Includes three solvent-free permanent markers made from 74% recycled content (black, blue and green). Features 12 nickel-plated brass grommets. Packaging is 100% post consumer recycled content chipboard and printed using locally sourced soy-based inks. Made in Washington.

What to do when you are done with it: simply cut off the metal grommets and recycle them with other metals. The sheet can be recycled at a facility that accepts #2 plastics.

Comments about DIY SHOWER CURTAIN:

It is great to find a shower curtain out of a material that really doesn't off gas, is lightweight, recyclable and dries quickly (therefore staying cleaner over time). Even though we can't recycle that sort of plastic where we live, the company offers a mail-back option.

While I like the idea of being able to decorate the curtain, in reality, and in my bathroom, just plain white would be better. If I were going to draw on it, I would want a better range of colors, at least including yellow and red. I do like that the markers included are eco-friendly too, but we could have done without them.

The biggest issue for me is the size of the thing. I bought two and one was supposed to go on a shower stall, but it's not going to work there, because it simply isn't long enough. The other I put up in our tub, but I had to move the curtain rod down by a foot because I usually use regular length shower curtains in there too. It's also not as wide as our other curtains, though that's not nearly as significant a drawback.

Otherwise, I like the feel of the material, find it behaves well when the water is on (no billowing), and love how it does the job and then dries quickly and completely.

Bought it to be a birthday present for an artist friend. I only wish that there were more markers with more colors available. I am really looking forward to seeing what she will do with it. Regardless, this will be sure-fired fun.

Liked that it isn't plastic and is somewhat local. Had a lot of fun drawing my own design, but wasn't happy when both the blue and green ink latter ran.
